Devotional: Is It Ever OK to be Angry at God?

Psalm 42:9-11

“O God my rock,” I cry, “Why have you forgotten me? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies? Their taunts break my bones. They scoff, ‘Where is this God of yours?’”

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!

Understanding Creator, you know the innermost workings of each heart. You formed each person with intention and purpose. You guide and protect; you strengthen and heal. Though trials and tragedies are never caused by you, you redeem every situation for the greatest good. Thank you for loving me through my brokenness. Amen.

Devotional: Living in the Rubble

Psalm 34:4-5

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

Lord of Light, you illuminate faith in times of doubt. You eradicate shame and replace it with belonging. You brighten journeys through darkness with the spark of hope. Thank you for igniting my life with your grace, forgiveness, and love. Amen.

Devotional: God Gives Us Peace and Rest

Isaiah 41:10

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Father of Mercy, you love with an overwhelming love. You are faithful through all ages, and your promises are true. There is no greater peace than knowing you are working for the good of your children at all times. Help me to find rest in your presence. Amen.

Devotional: Five Things to Do When God Seems Distant

Isaiah 54:10

For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.

Spirit Who Remains, you are a God who comforts and sustains. You do not leave when confusion overtakes the world. Though your movement may be unseen and unheard, you remain consistent and bold in acting for those you love. Fill me with your peace today. Amen.

Devotional: The War for Inner Peace

2 Thessalonians 3:16

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.

Savior of Peace, you experienced the uncertainties of life. You understand the cry of those who seek your presence, and you surround your children with strength through adversity and hope in chaos. In the middle of all of my life’s storms, remind me that you are with me. Amen.

Devotional: A Votive for the Journey

Lamentations 3:22-24

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”

God Who Provides, your yolk is easy, and your burden is light. You continuously seek to relieve and strengthen the created beings whom you love. In constant pursuit of relationship, you extend forgiveness and grace—providing peace through life’s journey. I will rest in you, knowing your presence is all I need. Amen.
