This Saturday we will consider the importance of living an integrated whole life rather than artificially segmenting life into what is “sacred” and what is “secular.” I hope you’ll take time with the devotional below and prepare to engage in worship as an integral part of your whole life. You are always welcome to share, comment, and subscribe!
Monday: There's No Difference Between "Spiritual" and "Secular"
Romans 12:1
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.
God of All, you are everywhere. You are in the workplace, and the schoolyard. You listen to the groanings of your creation and inhabit the praises of your people. I offer my entire life to you. Amen.

Tuesday: The Sacred-Secular Dichotomy
Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”
God of Eternity, you are Maker, Redeemer, and Lord of All. Your plan has always been for redemption, and your message is one of hope. It is a message I want to share. Send me. Amen.

Wednesday: The Discussion of Sacred or Secular
1 Peter 4:11
Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
God of Creativity, the stars sparkle for your glory, and the wind whispers your name. Every molecule of creation was formed for your purpose. I offer you my praise today. Amen.

Amos 9:6The Lord’s home reaches up to the heavens, while its foundation is on the earth. He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land. The Lord is his name!
God of Mystery, you cannot be fully understood. Your love is without measure and is displayed in the magnificence of your creation. I am in awe of your majesty. Amen.
